Name and Lineage:
His name is ‘SYED MASOOD ALI and his genealogy is given below:
“Hazrat Allama Mufti Syed Masood Ali Qadri son of Hafiz Syed Ahmed Ali son of Syed Qasim Ali son of Syed Hashim Aliعلیھم الرّحمہ ”
Date of Birth:
He was born at Bora village a town of Aligarh district in 1327 AH/ 1909 AD.
Acquisition of Knowledge:
He received early education from Etah district. In 1919 AH, he started Arabic education in Madrasa Latifa Jamia Masjid Aligarh from Maulana Abdur Rahman and he took the admission in Madrasa Arabia Qadria Dadun district Aligarh established by Nawab Abu Bakr Khan in 1921 AD. He got the beneficence of the Islamic knowledge from the expert teachers Maulana Wajihuddin Ahmed Khan Rampuri, Maulana Nomani and Qari Mohiuddinعلیھم الرّحمہ . He also got the Islamic sciences and arts form Madrasa ‘Aliya Rampur 1928 AD. In addition to other teachers, he became disciple of Maulana Fazal Haq Rampuri and his blessed son Maulana Afzal-ul-Haq Rampuriرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیھما . Mufti Sahib had the distinguished status in working hard, intelligence, good morals and in self-respect among his fellows.
Allegiance and Caliphate (Khilafat):
He was a Mureed and authorized Khalifa of his respected teacher Maulana Wajihuddin Ahmed Rampuriرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ (died in 1407 AH) who was the founder of Jamia Furqania Rampur and former Principal Madrasa Rampur’s Peer Hazrat Peer Makkhan Mian Barelviرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ in Qadri order but he made just few Mureeds.
Character and Peculiarities:
He was a practicing and pious Scholar. Similarly, he was also a very intelligent, hardworking teacher and expert in Islamic sciences and arts as well as sagacious Mufti and the well-informed Jurist too. He was also a well-mannered, high-minded and very beautiful gentleman. He would wear a simple and neat dress. He was a self-respect personality and physically was healthy and strong, furthermore his face was so luminous. His life spent in struggling for servicing Islam and promoting the Maslak-e-Haq (Ahle Sunnat Wal Jama’at). Giving amulet to the people and blowing over somebody by becoming peer, was not difficult for him, rather the fame and all the facilities of the world were existing in it but he did not do the same, rather he took such decision wherein the survival of Islam is hidden. These are these, teaching, writing & compiling books and the establishment of religious Madaris and Masajid etc. On the order of his respected teacher Maulana Wajihuddin رحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ, he went to Delhi in Madrasa Nomania in 1932 AD and he paid teaching service there till 1934 AD. He held the post of teaching and writing Fatawa in Madrasa Aliya Qadria Badaun from 1934 to 1941 AD along with running the Madrasa management. Except for teaching and writing Fatawa in Madrasa Arbia Dadun Aligarh district from 1941 to 1950 AD, he kept on monitoring the Madrasa administration. On the invitation of Ghazali-e-Zaman Hazrat Allama Syed Kazmiرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ , he paid his services as a teacher, Mufti and the superintendent up to twenty years from 1951 to 1970 AD. He came to Karachi with his family in 1970 AD. He held the post of Ifta as well as vice superintendent of Dar-ul-Uloom Amjadia and kept on servicing as a Imam and the orator in Jamia Masjid Qasaban Sadar. He taught all the Islamic sciences and arts for forty-five years and lots of Scholars and Fazils got the benefits from him in this long period. He remained associate with Jamiat Ulama-e-Pakistan from the beginning and he was active in the organization of Ahle Sunnat until whole life.
He passed away on 5th Muharram-ul-Haram, 1393 AH/ 9 February, 1973 AD and his blessed Shrine is in the cemetery of Sakhi Hasan (north Naizimabad, Karachi).
