Saifullah-al-Maslul Moin-ul-Haq Shah Fazal-e-Rasool Qadri Badayuni (تذکرہ / سوانح)
Saifullah-al-Maslul Moin-ul-Haq Shah Fazal-e-Rasool Qadri Badayuni رحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ
Name and Lineage:
According to the statement of Hazrat Shah Aal-e-Ahmed رحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ, his real name was Fazal-e-Rasool. His lineage is as follows:
“Shah Fazal-e-Rasool Badayuni son of Ain-ul-Haq Shah Abdul Majeed Badayuni son of Shah Abdul Hameed Badayuni.”
Date of Birth:
He was born in the month of Safar-ul-Muzaffar, 1213 AH/ 1797 AD.
Acquisition of Islamic Education:
He learnt Arabic grammar from his respected father and grandfather. He travelled to Lucknow on foot to get further education and went to Maulana Noor-ul-Haqرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ (passed away in 1338 AH/ 1822) who was a great disciple of Bahrul Uloom رحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ at Farangi palace, Lucknow. He completed all the Islamic arts & sciences in the short period of four years and he also completed the art medicine from Hakeem Babar Ali Mohani رحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ.
Allegiance and Caliphate (Khilafat):
His father bestowed him the permission and Khilafat in Qadriyah order as well as in the orders of Chishtiyah, Naqshbandiyah, Sohrawardiyah and Abul ‘Ulaa'iyah.
Character and Peculiarities:
He was a great Imam of Logical and traditional education and he was the perfect Sheikh of Shariat and Tareeqat. Thousands of people benefited from him. He significantly paid the right of proof of the truth in his era and he protected the beliefs of countless simple Muslims. His preaching brought many lost people on the true path of Islam. Despite of engagement with serving to the creation of Almighty Allah, worship, teaching and preaching, he also paid the attention towards authorship. He wrote the books on the topic of beliefs, textbooks, medical books, Sufism etc. and worthwhile books in Jurisprudence. Particularly, he did such efforts in in the refutation of Wahhabism as per the order of Auliya-e-Kiram علیھم الرّحمہ, that is not hidden. Therefore, when he was absorbed in the meditation at the shrine of Hazrat Khwajah Qutb-ud-Deen Bakhtiyar Kaki رحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ, during the meditation, he saw that Hazrat Khwajah Sahib رحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ was present there and a piles of books which were touching the sky were on his hands. He requested, Huzoor! Why did you take so much trouble? He replied that “Undertake this burden and defeat the obnoxious intentions of the Wahhabi beliefs.” He woke up from his meditation and in the same week he composed the book “Bawaariq-al-Muhammadiyyah”.
At the time of Zuhr prayer, a Thursday, on the 2nd Jamadi-ul-Akhir 1289 AH/ 1872, he was busy in the ‘Dhikr’ of Almighty Allah’s name in the low voice. Suddenly, he loudly pronounced the name of Allah (عزوجل) twice and he passed away. Then, he was buried in Dargah-e-Qadri.
Note: Due to God-given attributes, Hazrat Shah Fazal-e-Rasool Badayuni and Allama Fazal-e-Haq Khairabadiرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیھما were called with the title of ‘Badayuni and Khairabadi’ among the people of right path (Ahle-Sunnat Wal Jama’at) in near past in comparison with falsehood. Nowadays, they are called and known as ‘Barelvi’ in Pak-o-Hind, due to connection with Ala Hazratرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی عنہ . As Ahl-e-Sunnat were called ‘Ash‘ari’ and ‘Maatureedi’ themselves in the earlier times of Islam in comparison with rationalist sect of Muslims dissenters and the sculpture.
