Hazrat Maulana Mufti Taqaddus Ali Khan Razavi علیہ الرّحمۃ
Name and Lineage:
His genealogy is following:
“MUFTI TAQADDUS ALI KHAN son of Al-Haaj Sardar Wali Khan son of Maulana Haadi Ali Khan son of Maulana Raza Ali Khanعلیھم الرّحمۃ .”
He was a son of cousin of Ala Hazratرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ , so he was the nephew of Ala Hazrat رحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ. A sister of his maternal grandmother was the wife of Ala Hazratرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ . For this, he is famous as a maternal grandson of Ala Hazratرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ in Pakistan.
Date of Birth:
He was born at the Astana-e-‘Aaliya Razaviyah, Mohallah Sodagran, Bareli in Rajab-ul-Murajjab, 1325 AH/ August 1907 AD. Maulana Hasan Raza Khanرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ derived ‘Taqaddus Ali Khan’ the chronogramical name (1325 AH).
Acquisition of Knowledge:
He received early education from Maulana Khalil-ur-Rahmaan Bihari, Maulana Zahoor-ul-Hasan Farooqi Mujaddidi (The Principal of Madrasa-e-‘Aaliya Rampur and Daar-ul-Uloom Manzar-e-Islam Barely) and his blessed son of Maulana Noor-ul-Husain Rampuri. He studied middle books of Dars-e-Nizami from a son of brother of Ala Hazrat, Hazrat Maulana Hasnain Raza Khanرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہم and received higher education from Hazrat Maulana Rahm-e-Ilahi, Maulana Abdul Mannaan (Mardan), Maulana Abdul Aziz Khan Muhaddith of Barelvi and Hazrat Sadr-ush-Shariah Mufti Amjad Ali Azami. He completed his study from Hazrat Hujjat-ul-Islam Maulana Hamid Raza Khanرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ . He got the completion certificate from Dar-ul-Uloom Manzar-e-Islam Barely in 1345 AH. Ala Hazrat Maulana Shah Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Barelviرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ taught him the foreword of ‘Sharh-e-Jami’. Therefore, proficient students of last year of Madaaris used to learn ‘the foreword of Sharh-e-Jami’ from Ala Hazratرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ so that they could get the privilege of becoming a student of Ala Hazratرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ indirectly, Muhaddith-e-Azam Pakistan Hazrat Maulana Sardar Ahmed Razaviرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ is also included in them.
Allegiance and Caliphate (Khilafat):
He became Mureed of Ala Hazrat Mujaddid-e-Millatرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ at the age of seven years. Hujjat-ul-Islam Hazrat Maulana Hamid Raza Khanرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ wore him ‘Khirqa-e-Khilafat’ (saintly dress). Qutb-e-Madina Sheikh-ul-Mashaikh Hazrat Maulana Zia-ud-Deen Madaniرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ also granted him the permission and caliphate (Khilafat).
Character and Peculiarities:
He was a great exegete, Muhaddith and Jurisprudence. He was far from fame and prestige and unconcerned from reward and praise. He was always ready to serve of Islam. He used to wear simple dress and had polite nature and articulated speech. He was an embodiment of sincerity and affection and friend of scholars. In short, he was a beautiful bouquet of good attributes. He was a true lover of the Holy Prophet صلی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ وسلم. He lit up the lamp of love of the Holy Prophet صلی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ وسلم everywhere through teaching, preaching, writing and compiling books entire life. Love of Mustafa صلی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ وسلم was his faith, maslak (sect) and religion. His entire life was full of love of the Holy Prophet صلی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ وسلم and his journey towards the hereafter was its reflecting. He ate a date-palm of Madina-tul-Munawwarah and drank Zamzam at his last moment. He passed away while he was reciting Durood Shareef upon the Holy Prophet صلی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ وسلم.
He passed away on Wednesday at ten past twelve, on 3 Rajab-ul-Murajjab, 1408 AH/ February 22, 1988 AD.
