Mufti-e-Islam, Allamah Muhammad Burhan-ul-Haq Jabalpuri
He was born in Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh, India) in 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, 1310 A.H/ 1892.
His respected father name was Maulana Shah Muhammad Abdus Salam Jabalpuri and he died in 14 Jamadi-ul-Awwal 1372 A.H/ 1952.
He studied Persian education from his respected uncle Qaari Basheer-ud-Deen in Madrasa-e-Burhaniyah in Jabalpur. He got the traditional, philosophical and logical knowledge from his respected father Maulana Shah Abdus Salam. He went to Barely in 1332 A.H / 1914 A.D. He wrote the sayings of Imam Ahmed Raza رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہ in Daar-ul-Ifta. Maulana Zahoor Husain Mujaddidi, Maulana Mufti Mustafa Raza Khan and Maulana Amjad Ali Aazmi are his noteworthy classmates in the Daar-ul-Uloom Manzar-e-Islam. He remained present in the court of Imam Ahmed Raza رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہ for nearly three years. Imam Ahmed Raza Khan رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہ granted him the permission and caliphate (khilafat) in forty-five Islamic sciences and arts, certificate and eleven Salaasil of saints (spiritual genealogies) and wore the turban of honor around his head in Jabalpur, in 26 Jamadi-ul-Aakhir 1337 A.H/ 1918 A.D.
He went to Barely in the meeting of congress and khilafat committee and he bluntly talked to Abul Kalam Azad in the connection of the concept of National Unity is from the religion, not from country.
After approval of Pakistan resolution, he visited in the dimensions of the country and he delivered speeches in the North-West Frontier Province, Panjab and Sindh. He struggled hard for Pakistan. He appreciated the efforts of Quaid-e-Azam and wrote the letter of thanks.
He passed away on Thursday evening, at quarter after six in Jabalpur on 26 Rabi-ul-Awwal, 1405 A.H/ 20 December, 1984. His Shrine has become the resort for all in Jabalpur.
