It is narrated in ‘Mir"at-ul-Asrar’ that, “Once, a person came to meet him and started talking in birds’ language. Thus, he kept on replying in the same language. When he went out, then someone asked him that which language was that? We had never listened before. He said, that was a national language of Jenies. It is fact that Almighty Allah bestowed him the knowledge of languages of all creatures. It is not the surprise. Almighty Allah says in the Holy Quran, “و علم آدم الاسماء کلہا”. He was a such ‘Mustajab-ud-Dawaat’ (whose prayers are accepted by Almighty Allah) that people would understand him as the mediation in the auspicious court of Almighty Allah and people had him make the prayers so that they might achieve their goals. For this reason, he was called ‘Bab-e-Qaza-ul-Hawaaij’ (a door of the fulfillment of needs) by the people of Iraq.
He was the great worshiper, ascetic, ‘Qaim-ul-Layl’ (i.e. the person, who constantly worships throughout the night) and ‘Saim-un-Nahaar’(i.e. the person, who fasts continuously). He was called by the title of ‘Abdus Saleh’ of awakening all night in the worship and because of abundant worship and the interpretation of Islamic laws. He used to give money to the people secretly according to their needs. His respected father Imam Jafar Sadiq رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ said, “He is the best child in all my children and he is one of the pearls of Almighty Allah.
Imam Shafai رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ said, “The blessed Shrine of Musa Kazim رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ has a status of the experience for the acceptance of prayers.
Imam Khalal Hambali رحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ said, “Whenever I faced any difficulty in my life, then I would go to the Shrine of Imam Musa Kazim son of Jafar رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہماand I would give his ‘waseelah’ (intermediary) in the auspicious court of Almighty Allah, so Allah جل جلالہwould easily fulfill my wish by removing my difficulty.”

On the order of the empire of that time, he was given the mixed poison into date-palm in the age of fifty five years. After eating the date-palm, he said, “The enemy gave me the poison and I will die after three days.” It exactly happened as he said. Thus, he got the martyrdom in 25 Rajab-ul-Murajjab 183 AH.
