Valentine Day in Islam

What is Valentine Day?

When we go in the depth of information about the facts of Valentine’s Day, it acquires the heartrending facts about Valentine; Actually Valentine was a Christian Priest who lived in Rome. He was sent to the Prison by Roman Emperor for the crime of performing marriages against law. During imprisonment, he trapped the daughter of the Jailer in his love’s web and he motivated to commit a sin by persuading her that such relations are neither crime nor sin. Not only this, he conveyed this message to others and induced them to make such abusive relations to each other without any bondage of marriage. When Roman Emperor came to know the facts about Valentine’s activities, the Emperor announced him a capital punishment, and eventually he was hanged on 14th February, in 3rd century of Christen era. After 300 A.D, Valentine’s Day is being celebrated by Christians and different communities, as his monument to every year of 14th February all around the world.

Valentine Day and Muslim Ummah

As we know very well that Christians are avowed enemies of Muslims since beginning, and they keep on making devilish plans against Muslim societies in every age, in order to destroy the true Faith of Muslim Ummah, which is the most valuable and everlasting wealth. Because without it Muslims are nothing moreover, Valentine’s Day is one of the parts of their evil plan. In short, Muslims especially a young generation has badly been trapped in their devil plan and even they have started celebrating this day like them. Due to this reason, Muslim Ummah has reached at the brink of the collapse. They are following them with the blindfold eyes and they are openly demonstrating the disobedience of Allah and His beloved Prophetجلّ جلالہ و صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم on that day.

Who are we?

Consider with the most attention! Are we followers of Valentine? Absolutely not! Who are we? الحمدللہ عزوجل we are Muhammadi. Are we Christian? Not at all! By the grace of Allahجلّ جلالہ we are Muslims. Is Valentine our guide? Not at all, our guide is Muhammad the Arabian Are we followers of the false religion? No! We are the followers of true Islam. Is Valentine our beloved? Never can be! Our beloved is beloved of Allah Almightyجلّ جلالہ.

Why are we following such unreligious acts? Why are we ignoring the teachings of the beautiful religion Islam? Why are we ignoring the messages of the Holy Prophetصلی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ وسلم? Why are we forgetting the teaching of Islam and why are we celebrating Valentine’s Day???

What is the reason of celebrating that day? Do we have the proper justification of celebrating this immoral day? Obviously not!

Valentine Day and Our Role

Being a Muslim, it is our obligation to protect ourselves and our new generation from celebrating such an evil day. You know better that day brings destructions and humiliation in our lives. We must educate our young generation about the facts of this evil day. We must follow the Islamic Rules and Regulations in our lives in every situation, and teach youngsters the manners of spending life according to the Islamic Shariah... If we do not perform our duties in this regard, we will be the responsible of the destruction, and our upcoming generations would never forgive us, for our ignorance, we will not be able to be accountable in front of Allah.

In the end of my article, I would like to present an Urdu poem by my dear friend Mr. Nadeem Ahmad Nadeem Noorani regarding Valentine Day:
